A complete renovation, remodeling and addition of 600 square feet
of glass-enclosed living space to a 1927 Pacific Redicut Bungalow.
The original 960 square foot house was reconfigured and the back
corner opened up into the new living space. The clapboard siding
of the original house was utilized as the interior finish of a portion
of the addition. A new wood-plank ceiling plenum flanked with two
rows of sparkling 15 watt incandescent lights further unifies the
old and new and carries ductwork as well as ventilating the new
rafter spaces. The plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems were completely
renewed and a new wood shingle roof installed over both old and
new portions. The project was selected for publication in Sunset
Magazine and in a book by Duo Dickinson entitled Adding On published
by McGraw Hill.
